Chapter one: Our first Rv experience as a family was in 2006 when we rented a 39 foot Utrasport For 21 days.We drove from South Florida through Georgia into Tennessee and back. It was an eye opening experience to me and my wife as we realized how much the kids enjoyed the experience of Rv living. My older son caught his first fish at the age of two, my two daughters were climbing trees and the whole family enjoyed going on walks through the woods.
Chapter two: after the rental RV in June 2006 our kids were ages 6, 4, 2, and six months old. So instead of jumping in with both feet we thought it would be a good idea to test the waters some more. In August of 2006 we bought a Coleman Pop-Up camper. We used it for weekend trips over the next six months. We realized that a pop up just wasn’t a good way for our “big” family to travel long distances.
Chapter three: on February 26th 2007 we went to North trail Rv in Fort Myers, FL and bought a bran new 42 ft Fleetwood Revolution.
Later that same year on September, 3 we left on a 21 state West Coast Rv trip for seven and a half weeks. It was a sight seeing extravaganza OpryLand Nashville Tennessee, the St Louis Arch, Badlands of South Dakota, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone park Wyoming, Arches national Park Utah, Mesa Verde Colorado, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Sunset Strip Los Angeles, San Diego Zoo, Palm Springs, Albuquerque New Mexico Hot air balloon rally, The Alamo San Antonio Tx, Bourbon Street New Orleans, and back to the Beautiful beaches of Destin FL.
Chapter four: Our next trip would be in the summer of 2008 when we did a 15 state tour of the Northeast for five and a half weeks we visited 15 states. We spent the majority of our time in the Northeast, and when you live in South Florida you know what that means. On this trip we visited a lot of old friends and also had time for my wives family reunion.
Chapter five: The next Rv adventure would come in the summer of 2009 we went on a 14 state tour of the mid West. This trip had a little twist to it, on this six and a half week trip we went to eleven theme parks. From the Wisconsin Dells to Cedar Point Sandusky, Ohio to The Waves water park in Nashville Tennessee just to name a few. The kids rode more rides on this trip than my wife has in her whole life.
All of the above has led us to where we are today, about to leave on a thirteen month 50 state tour (YES- all 50 states). We will re-visit each state we have been to in the past . And yes we will go to Hawaii, Sometime in early 2011 we will be in Southern California where we will park the rv for three weeks as we fly to Hawaii. My family and myself are excited to embark on this trip. We are also Thankful to all of our Family, friends and Sponsors who have helped make this trip a reality.
